Discover the fundamentals of Machine Learning (ML), the engine driving intelligent systems. This module introduces how machines learn from data, explores key ML types (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement), and demystifies basic algorithms like regression and classification. Understand ML's vital link to Artificial Intelligence and the crucial role of Data Science.
Deep learning (DL) being a specialized form of ML and is based on artificial neural networks with multiple layers. Its strength is at recognizing patterns in unstructured data like images, audio and text. Key elements would include; introduction to Deep Learning (DL), the concepts, types, Strengths of Deep learning in processing unstructured data, visual demonstrations of DL and use cases backed up by real-life examples
The NLP module explores the core techniques that enable computers to understand, interpret and generate human language. The key elements of this module include foundational knowledge of Natural Language Processing: enabling computers to understand and generate human language, key techniques and concepts in NLP, popular tools and libraries, real world applications, and future trends.
This module would highlight the ethical and legal dimensions of developing and deploying AI technologies responsibly, especially across diverse global contexts. Module introduces learners to the ethical and societal implications of AI, especially in the context of global diverse communities, key principles of responsibles AI, ethical considerations in AI development and deployment, discussion on relevant laws and regulations related to AI in the global south and developed nations.
